Dear Clare,

I wanted to thank you again for making it possible for me going to Edinburgh with Pauline again. I know that it was quite spontaneous but I was really happy to go there again and it was so much fun!

The fourth term started today and I can’t believe how fast time’s passing. I made a lot of new friends during the last few weeks! I’m really happy here and I’m actually quite good at coping with homesickness! I’m really determined to enjoy the rest of my time here.

Here are a few photos of my Edinburgh trip with Pauline and one of Rosemary and me back in January.

We just drank a cup of delicious Scottish tea and ate some of the excellent shortbread. And we talked about how lucky Jil was to have such a nice host family. She told us some nice stories and how she enjoyed the stay at your farm. Yesterday Jürgen (Jil's dad) tasted the awesome whisky. We wish to thank you very much for your kind hospitality and we are sure Jil learned a lot about Scotland, the country life and the language. We hope to see you some day in Germany or in Scotland. If you ever come to Germany you are very welcome. Thank you so very much, Ellen and Jil (and the rest of the family).

“My children have left home, so we have three empty rooms. We enjoy meeting new people and practising our language skills. For that reason, we agreed to have 4 teachers, a nurse and the bus driver staying
with us.

We had a good laugh, helped by the excellent wine they brought from France.”
